Conversion Tracking

Conversion Tracking

Overview

If you're spending money on marketing and you can't tell what's actually working, you're flying blind. Conversion tracking fixes that — giving you a clear picture of which channels bring in customers and which are just costing you money.

What is a conversion?

A conversion is any action on your website that has real business value — a phone call, a contact form submission, an online purchase, a booking, a quote request. These are the moments that matter. Conversion tracking is the process of recording when these happen and tracing them back to exactly where that visitor came from.

Without it, you might know that your website gets visitors, but you have no idea which ones become customers. You can't tell if your Google Ads are generating leads or just clicks. You can't tell if your SEO is driving revenue or just traffic. You're making expensive decisions with incomplete information.

With proper tracking in place, everything changes. You can see the full picture — and so can we.

What we set up

We install and configure the tracking tools that give you an accurate, complete view of your marketing performance.

Google Analytics 4

The industry standard for website analytics. We set up GA4 correctly — not just installed, but properly configured to track the events and conversions that matter to your business. Most businesses have GA4 installed but set up incorrectly, meaning the data they're looking at is incomplete or misleading.

Google Ads conversion tracking

Essential if you're running Google Ads. Without this, Google has no idea which of your clicks turned into leads or sales — meaning its algorithm can't optimise your campaigns effectively. Proper conversion tracking lets Google work smarter with your budget, and lets us see your true cost per lead.

Meta Pixel & Conversions API

If you're running Facebook or Instagram ads, the Meta Pixel tracks what happens on your website after someone clicks. We set up both the browser-side Pixel and server-side Conversions API — a more reliable setup that improves your audience targeting and reduces data loss from ad blockers.

Google Tag Manager

We use Google Tag Manager as the central hub for all tracking — it keeps things clean, organised, and easy to update without touching your website's code every time. It also makes it much simpler to add new tracking in the future.

Why this matters for every business spending on marketing

Conversion tracking isn't just a technical nice-to-have. It's the foundation that makes every other form of marketing more effective. When you know which campaigns bring in real customers, you can put more money into what works and stop wasting it on what doesn't.

We recommend getting tracking set up properly before investing seriously in any paid advertising. It's one of the most practical things you can do — and it's a one-time setup that pays for itself quickly.

If you already have tracking in place but aren't sure if it's set up correctly, we can audit your current setup and identify any gaps or inaccuracies.

Common questions about conversion tracking

What tools do you set up?

We set up Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Ads conversion tracking, Meta Pixel and Conversions API for Facebook and Instagram, and Google Tag Manager as the central tracking hub. Each tool is properly configured — not just installed — so your data is accurate.

I already have Google Analytics. Is that enough?

Having GA4 installed is a start, but most businesses have it installed incorrectly — missing key conversion events, tracking the wrong actions, or not connecting it to Google Ads. We can audit your existing setup and identify exactly what's missing or misconfigured.

Do I need this if I'm running Google Ads?

Absolutely yes. Without proper conversion tracking, Google's algorithm can't tell which clicks led to real business outcomes — it can't optimise your campaigns effectively. You're also blind to your real cost per lead. We recommend setting up tracking before committing serious budget to Google Ads or social ads.

Is conversion tracking a one-time setup?

The initial setup is a one-time project. It pays for itself quickly by making every subsequent dollar of marketing spend more effective. Ongoing maintenance is minimal — we check tracking integrity when we manage your campaigns, and update tracking when your site or marketing stack changes.
